Miami recruit says education comes before sports

Albany High student Juwon Young will be stepping onto the field as a University of Miami football recruit in just a few short months, but before he leaves he took some time out to share an important message to local children on Friday.

Young spoke to the crowd at the Boys and Girls Club of Albany -- a group he once belonged to -- about the importance of taking education seriously at a young age.

"Education is the main part, I love football but comes first. If you don't have education, you can't play football at all, you can't go to college. So I focus on my education before anything," said Young.

Young says it's an amazing feeling to realize his hard work has paid off and that he can be someone young kids can look up to, just like he used to look up to other players.
