      Meth lab brought down in Lowndes

      39-year-old Cornelius Howell has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, manufacturing methamphetamine in the presence of children, and violation of probation.

      Officials with the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office say that they have closed an active meth lab and found three children at the home during the investigation.

      Investigators from the Special Operations Division of the Sheriff's Office went to a home in the 4600 block of Vienna Church Road to serve a Violation of Probation arrest warrant for Dwayne Howell.

      While inside the home, investigators say they discovered an active methamphetamine lab operation, finished methamphetamine product and three small children inside the home.

      The children, who do not live at the residence, were removed and turned over to their mother.

      A more thorough search was conducted with methamphetamine being found and a small quantity of marijuana and digital scales for weighing the finished methamphetamine product.

      39-year-old Dewayne Howell, 37-year-old Michael Antonio Reed, 39-year-old Cornelius Howell, and 40-year-old Tavarius Kirk have been arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, manufacturing methamphetamine in the presence of children, and violation of probation.
