Students at Lake Park Elementary School had the opportunity to interact with numerous community volunteers in the medical field this morning.
Students were exposed to careers as an EMS medic, nurse, chiropractor, and more. Lake Park Principal Catherine Whitfield says it's important to expose the students early to various career fields. "If you can tie in their interests to a career, they will understand the importance of what they're doing in school. We want to show them why they need math, science, and all of the other subjects they learn in school" says Whitfield.
FOX 31 News saw many students dressed as doctors, teachers, basketball players, and models because students were encouraged to dress up as what they want to be when they grow up.
