A Marine Corps Logistics Base officer has been relieved of his post and his successor appointed.
The marine base held a Relief and Appointment Ceremony Friday morning for MCLB Sergeant Major Conrad Potts.
Potts is leaving and Sergeant Major Kenneth Agee has been appointed to replace him.
During the ceremony, Potts' sword was passed to Agee.
"The Corps takes you to different places and different directions and you have to be prepared for that at all times," Sgt. Maj. Potts said. "When I got the orders to come here to Albany, I had never been here before and didn't know what it really entailed but I was definitely glad I got here."
Potts is retiring from the U.S. Marine Corps after 32 years of service.
