      MCLB and Community shouts a marine "hoo-rah" for dedication

      Colonel Donald Davis with the Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany came out Monday morning to speak before students and faculty for the Lee County Elementary School dedication.

      Lee County School Superintendent Dr. Lawrence Walters also attended the event.

      The new elementary school cost approximately $14 million dollars to build, with funding allocated for the facility construction from a combination of state and local funds.

      The school has about 655 students in registered for the fall semester.

      Colonel Davis got the kids excited saying "Hoo Rah!"

      he says not only is the school system opening doors but the key to opportunity.

      Colonel Davis says from the time students enter the doors from the time they exit, they will be substantially changed.
