School Board member Emily Jean McAfee announced today she will not run for reelection.

McAfee is supporting Carol Tharin as her replacement. Tharin qualified as a democrat to run for District 4. McAfee has held the seat for 12 years. Tharin is retired with a financial background and says the controversy surrounding the school board superintendent search was the final push in her decision to run.

"I'm there to do what's right for the students first, and what's right for the citizens and the taxpayers," Tharin said.

No one else has qualified to run against Tharin just yet.
