Turner Job Corps released a statement today about recent changes to faculty, staff, and students. The school is reducing the maximum number of students that can enroll by nearly 198 spots. More than a dozen people were let go as a result of this change and other faculty and staff are experiencing adjustments to accommodate the smaller student population.
Below is the statement from Calandra Jefferson, Turner Job Corps Business and Community Liaison:
"Following the Job Corps enrollment freeze, the Turner Job Corps Center's student enrollment requirements, along with all Job Corps Center's nationwide, was reduced between 15-25%. Turner has been reduced from 930 to 732. This required a small adjustment to staffing to match a smaller student population. Specific positions were eliminated based on the DOL model for Center Staff. All other services and positions remain."
