Marines step out of uniform and into the classroom

Marines at the Marine Corps Logistics Base got a chance to step out of uniform and focus on themselves as individuals without rank during a three-day Non-Commissioned Officer Workshop that began on Tuesday.

30 marines sat in on the workshop that's focused on evolving marines through leadership so they can better serve others.

Staff Sergeant Juana DeLosSantos, a Marine Corps Logistics Command Equal Opportunity Advisor and one of the two instructors teaching the workshop, says those who attend will learn about topics such as socialization, communication, sexism, racism, extremism and more.

Staff Sgt. DeLosSantos says one of the Marine Corps mottos is to know yourself and seek self improvement, so this workshop is an opportunity to see where marines can improve themselves and others.
