Man killed on bike by drunk driver

An accident in Thomas County yesterday afternoon took the life of one.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, a Mustang driven by Jeffrey Neel was traveling northbound on U.S. 319 near Pettigrew Lane when the car struck Kevin Mondoux who was traveling on a bicycle.

Mondoux was killed on impact and EMS unsuccessfully tried to revive him.

Neel has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding 80 mph in a 55 mph zone, reckless driving, and homicide by vehicle in the first degree.
