Officers have interviewed witnesses and potential witnesses as well as the driver of the car.
Officers still have several more interviews to conduct and they are waiting for results from a blood test taken from 28-year-old Brandon Wood who died after falling off a Ford Explorer.
A spokesperson with the sheriff's office says they hope to have closure on this matter soon.
A man is dead after going "car surfing" with his friends.
It's a new trend where one person is on top of the car while the other is driving.
It happened in Mitchell county Sunday morning around 12:30.
29-year-old Kristen Richardson was driving a 2001 Ford Explorer while 28-year-old Brandon Wood and 31-year-old Brandon Brown were riding on top.
Wood fell backwards, resulting in head and neck injuries.
Richardson then slammed on brakes, causing Brown to roll forward, injuring his arm.
Wood was taken first to a medical center in Camilla, but then transferred to Archbold Memorial in Thomasville where he was pronounced dead Monday afternoon.
FOX 31 News spoke with a state trooper with the Georgia State Patrol who says charges are pending in this case.
