Man dies after shooting in west Albany

Second Update (5/6/14 10:38 a.m.)The shooting victim has been identified as 23-year-old Jeffrey Dewayne Nunley according to Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler.Nunley's body will be sent to the GBI Crime Lab on Thursday for autopsy.

First Update (5/5/14 11:00 p.m.)Police are now on the lookout for a possible shooting suspect. He is a black male last seen wearing a red shirt and jean shorts and may have gotten in a silver car.If you have any information that could be helpful to this investigation, please call Crime Stoppers at 229-436-TIPS.Residents in the area need to be on alert and report any suspicious activity or persons to the Albany Police Department.Initial Story:A man has passed away after a shooting at 1206 West Whitney.

Shots were heard in the 1200 block of West Whitney Avenue Monday evening. Witnesses say shortly afterwards a white male, 23, collapsed and died in front of his home.

Albany Police has confirmed to FOX 31 that the man passed away after being transported to the hospital in critical condition.

This is an active death investigation.

Police will release the victim TMs name once his family has been notified.
