      Man arrested in Coffee County for impersonating an officer

      The Coffee County Sheriff's Office has announced that 60-year-old Ted Adams has been arrested for impersonating a law enforcement officer. / Coffee County Jail


      The Coffee County Sheriff's Office has announced that 60-year-old Ted Adams has been personated for impersonating a law enforcement officer.

      Investigators say that arrest and search warrants were served on Adams and his residence Friday morning as the result of an investigation of an incident which occurred in April, 2011 in the county.

      Officers says that Adams allegedly attempted to stop a 25-year-old female driver for a traffic infraction while in his personal vehicle by activating a siren, displaying a badge and motioning for her to pull over.

      The concerned driver called 911 to try to verify if an officer was trying to stop her and she drove to the Douglas Police Department to make a report.
