A Lowndes County couple was arrested for multiple counts of child molestation according to the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office.
The Lowndes County Sheriff's Office says Annitta Shelene Roberts, 39, and Joseph Lyle Terrell, 42, both of Valdosta, were arrested and charged with child molestation and aggravated child molestation. Terrell was also charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the arrests stem from a complaint of child molestation which was alleged to have occurred approximately six years ago. Investigators say the victim, who is now sixteen years old, says he lived with his father, Terrell and step-mother, Roberts, at an address in Lowndes County. While living in the home, the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office says the child was enticed to perform sexual acts with Roberts.
They say Terrell is alleged to have participated and watched the acts as they occurred.
Officers say the child later moved to live with his mother and recently disclosed the events that had occurred.
Both Robert and Lyle appeared for an arraignment hearing on Jan. 24 before a Lowndes County Magistrate Judge. Bond was denied for both.
