Low voter turnout Tuesday afternoon in Tift County
Tuesday is Primary Election day across the state of Georgia. Polls will stay open throughout the entirety of the day from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m..
On Tuesday afternoon, FOX 31 spoke with Tift County Election Supervisor Pat Wilson Robinson who says turnout has been a little bit lower due to the rainy weather.
According to Wilson-Robinson, only about three percent of voters took to the polls over the past few weeks to take part in early voting.
As of Tuesday afternoon, a total of 114 voters came out to the Tift County Board of Elections precinct to cast their ballot.
Wilson-Robinson says if you want your voice to be heard, you have to exercise your right to vote.
"If you have an opinion about something or you want to state what your means are, that's the way that you can say what you want to say or make a difference," said Wilson-Robinson.
Voters who live in Tifton and Tift County are voting on a total of 10 different races.
We will have a full list of results on our Tuesday night newscast at 10 p.m.
