After over twenty years of service, El Maya II Mexican Restaurant, in Albany, closed its doors Sunday night.
Managers at the location in Leesburg tell FOX 31 that the restaurant closed due to financial concerns.
The owner, Jose Diaz left a note on the restaurant door in Albany that says, "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the news of the closure of our Albany location. I appreciate all of the condolences from our loyal patrons. I will truly miss all of the friendships and bonds that I have made with many of you all throughout our tenure in Albany. Thanks for all of the memories for 20+ years. I will always cherish them. I hope to see familiar faces at our Lee County location. Thank you and God bless."
The El Maya location in Lee County continues to thrive and has less competition and will remain open.
