Local students part of NASA Summer of Innovation showcase
Students in grades 4-9 put their knowledge from the school year to the test on Friday during the Albany State University NASA Summer of Innovation project showcase.
Early in the year, students picked a topic that pertained to the information they would learn over the school year and collectively gathered data throughout the months to make a presentation on their subject.
The subjects ranged from head injuries from heading a soccer ball to the use of DNA testing and allowed the students to showcase what they've learned as well as focus on a potential career.
Danielle Johnson with ASU's NASA Summer of Innovation learning project says the students have been working hard to present their findings and this gives them a way to not only learn but show others what they have learned.
