Fans in the stands at Sunday night's Super Bowl were inconvenienced during a power outage that postponed the games, but local bars and restaurants reaped the rewards of an extended game.
Local restaurants say an added 30 to 40 minutes of play time translates to an extra drink or appetizer while customers are waiting.
Mellow Mushroom General Manager Kenny Snapp says his restaurant was able to turn the outage into a way to entertain customers by having a trivia game over the intercom. Snapp says people came out with the goal to stay until the end of the game, so extra time only meant more time ordering food and drinks.
Other places like Loco's says although it only translated to a few extra rounds, it still helped.
