Local programs keep teens out of trouble

For those who think there are no programs in Albany for kids ages 12 and older, the rumor isn't true.

FOX 31 spoke to the Boys & Girls Club of Albany today who stressed how important it is for pre-teens and teenagers to still be involved in group programs rather than sitting home alone. Mike Nelson said 12 year olds these days are more like 14 year olds in terms of how savvy they are with technology.

Nelson says if these children aren't involved in after school programs and aren't being watched then they're more likely to get themselves into trouble.

At the Boys & Girls Club they have a teen night for boys and girls and they have a Character and Leadership Development Group for kids ages 10 to 13.
