Local organization urges community to step out
TIFTON, Ga. —
A local organization is asking the community to step out this weekend, but for a good cause.
The Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation is hosting their annual Stepping Out for Your Heart 5K Run.
The money raised will be used at local medical centers to help with heart related emergencies.
More than 70 people signed up to run, and organizers hope to have more.
“I would encourage anyone to come,” Mandy Brooks, TRMC Foundation Executive Director, said. “It’s a really fun day for families. It’s free and it’s fun for the kids to come out and watch you run and exercise.”
The race starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday at the Tift County High School Northeast Campus.
