Local donation helps community LIVE UNITED

Publix Super Markets, Inc. presents the United Way of Southwest Georgia a check for $28,400 towards the annual campaign to support community impact work in the area. The check is being presented by Keith Gilbert, Publix District Manager along with local store managers Garrett Tukes (Store Manager, Leesburg location) and Duane Ranew (Store Manager, Albany location).

In addition to the corporate contribution, Publix employees have pledged and additional $36,755 towards the most recent campaign. We are grateful for their support of our United Way programs and community efforts.

United Way of Southwest Georgia's mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities in Southwest Georgia. We work daily to advance the common good, strengthening the building blocks that everyone in our community needs for a quality life: Education, Income, Basic Needs and Health. By focusing our energy and efforts on these building blocks and by supporting partner agencies that provide programs and services with measurable impact under these areas â" we know that if we get these four areas in good shape, we will have strong communities and stable, independent families. United Way of Southwest Georgia serves a geographic territory of thirteen counties including: Baker, Calhoun, Crisp, Dooly, Dougherty, Early, Lee, Mitchell, Randolph, Sumter, Terrell, Wilcox and Worth. United Way of Southwest Georgia is the organization with the expertise to recruit people with the passion and resources needed to help get things done. LIVE UNITED is a call to action for everyone to become a part of the change.
