Children's book author Gloria Smith visited Cox Elementary School in Moultrie to sing Christmas songs with one of the classes on Wednesday.
Smith frequently visits the school to help tutor students who need help and says she walked into a class one day to hear them singing one of the songs from her Little Elf series. From there, Smith began teaching the songs to the class to record and send to the parents as a Christmas gift.
Smith says while she loves helping the kids, they also help her with the joy they bring to her life when she sees how much they love her books and songs.
Smith continues helping children by donating all profits from her books sold in Moultrie and Thomasville to the Vashti Center, a place that helps foster children and provides counseling to South Georgia families.
