Many of people are traveling or staying home with family for the Christmas weekend but there are other local options for those who want to get out of the house.
The Albany Convention and Visitor's Bureau says the Flint RiverQuarium will be open their normal hours.
If you want to see some Christmas lights, the CVB suggests driving around Downtown Albany to see their lights and displays; they also recommend checking out the lights at Chehaw Park.
"On Christmas Eve the Chehaw Festival of Lights will be going on until 9 p.m. It's $12 per car and three dollars to ride the train. They have really stepped up the lights this year and really impressed everyone," says Rashelle Beasley, Interim CVB Manager.
The CVB says Thronateeska will be open 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday but will be closed Saturday and Sunday; the same goes for the Albany Museum of Arts, they say.
With the recent wave of warmer temperatures, families can take their children to Turtle Grove's playground.
