Local agencies fulfilling Christmas wish for child battling cancer
Local law enforcement agencies are chipping to help fulfill a Christmas wish made by a Virginia child battling cancer.
Five-year-old Nathan Norman is a Rustburg, Virginia native that has been battling brain cancer since 2009.
Norman's Christmas wish is to receive Christmas cards and patches from police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel across the United States.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office is preparing to send Nathan a package filled with police bags, patches, and hats for the little guy to fulfill his Christmas wish.
The gift pack will also include signed Christmas cards from officers.
"It's all about kids during Christmas time and wanting to get their wish made. We want to contribute to that factor by sending these items and wishing him a merry Christmas and hope things get better for him in life," said Reggie Rachals, Lee County Sheriff.
Sheriff Rachals is advising other public service entities to join in an effort to make Nathan's wish come true.
Officials with the Albany Police Department say they will also be sending a patch as well.
If you would like to send Nathan a Christmas greeting, his address is 81 Durivan Drive, Rustburg, Virginia 24588.
