Light poles tumble after onslaught of rain

Two poles with power lines totaling 7200 volts are down in an alley off of West 3rd Avenue.

The Albany Fire Department is on scene waiting for Water Gas and Light to shut off power so they can start moving the poles.

Just as a precaution, firefighters are keeping people out of the alley and away from the fences of their back yards, just in case they are energized.

Officials don't think it was struck by lightening they believe the poles fell because the ground was so saturated from the rain.
