Jermaine Harrison has been sentenced to life in prison with an added 20 years for the aggravated battery charge and will be eligible for parole 30 years into that sentence.
Harrison was involved in a March 2012 incident where he reportedly beat James Wheeler III unconscious and left him in a Toyota Camry.
Family members of Wheeler say that their husband, brother and friend is still unconscious over a year later and were hopeful that Harrison would be put behind bars.
Judge Willie Lockette sentenced Harrison to life in prison and added 20-years for the aggravated battery.
