Albany's new on and off ramp to the Liberty Expressway is starting to take shape.

Dirt piles are starting to resemble what will be the entrance and exit to the highway.

Contractors have set beams for the Jefferson Street bridge.

Soon crews will start pouring the deck on the bridge for people to drive across.

"That brings it one step to looking like a real structure. They're starting to work now on the second bridge that's going to go across the railroad tracks. They're pouring columns for that," said Nita Birmingham, GDOT District Communications Officer.

Workers will start pouring the deck on the Jefferson bridge beams in April.

The project is expected to be complete by the end of next year.
