Lee County will take debris off your hands

The Lee County Board of Commissioners voted to approve what they're calling "Free Dumping Days."

To help combat illegal dumping, they're allowing residents only (no businesses) to drop off up to 500 pounds of debris each month.

Mike Sistrunk with Lee County Public Works says residents are allowed to bring inert debris such as leaves, limbs, and branches and they're also allowed to bring appliances.

The first free dumping day will be Saturday December 28th and will continue to be the last Saturday of every month.
