Lee County considers Fire and EMS options
Lee County Commissioners met tonight, continuing their debate on whether to combine their fire and EMS services.
Commissioners feel the change would bring more spread-out fire coverage, and could also bring down the county's more rural areas ISO score.
Chairman Rick Muggridge says after hearing arguments for and against the plan, he feels they're ready to take the next step.
"In two weeks we'll come back and have a piece of legislation on the table, that everyone can agree upon. From there we'll make our final decision," said Muggridge.
The board will meet again on May 28th, with their offices closed on the 27th in observance of Memorial Day.
