Lee County commissioners thanked two of their members who will leave office at the end of the year.
Tuesday's nights meeting was the last for Chairman Morris Leverett and Vice-Chairman Wally Roberts. Leverett lost reelection and Roberts did not seek another term. They and the rest of the commissioners approved pricing for renovations to their new office at the old Lee County High School. Commissioner Ed Duffy says they'll move in by April of next year.
Commissioners also denied Sheriff Harold Breeden's request to give severance packages to employees who will be let go when Sheriff-elect Reggie Rachals takes over January 1st.
