The bridge over the Flint River on State Route 32 will soon be seeing some construction.
The Georgia Department of Transportation is working on a 1,000 foot and 44 foot wide bridge replacement south of the current bridge over the river. They're also working on 140 foot long and 44 foot wide bridge replacement south of the current bridge over the Overflow.
The proposed typical bridge section will consist of two 12-foot travel lanes and 10-foot wide rural shoulders.
The project will cost about $9.7 million and is scheduled to begin this fall and end in the fall of 2015.
