Late night fire destroys South Albany home
An overnight fire destroyed a home in South Albany late Thursday night.
The blaze took place in the 900th block of Riley Street near Mitchell Avenue around 11:30 p.m.
Fire crews received a call from a neighbor and reported to the scene shortly after 11:40, where they found the home engulfed in flames.
The flames burned down power lines connected to the home, causing them to detach and create a dangerous situation in the street nearby.
Fire crews found the house to be vacant at the time of the fire and there were no injuries as a result. They will continue to investigate the cause of the fire later today.
