Korean War POW kicks off convocation

Activities for the National Prisoner of War Recognition Day kicked off in Andersonville Wednesday.

Bill Norwood, a prisoner of war during the Korean War, was the first to speak this Wednesday at the 8th Annual POW Convocation program.

Norwood was held captive for two years during the Korean War.

Thursday there will be a public event in observance of the Korean War and the 10th Anniversary of Operation Iraqi Freedom

On Friday attendees will take time to recognize all prisoners of war and those missing in action.
