The National Weather Service had predicted the Kinchafoonee Creek to reach flood levels in Lee County--but now they're backing off that prediction.
Fire Chief James Howell says due to drought conditions, creek levels were already down.
Lee County received about three inches of rain and Howell says that shouldn't be a problem.
"Usually the first road the Kinchafoonee affects is Turkey Creek Farm Road and looks like it's not even going to reach it at this time," says Chief Howell.
Creek levels stood at seven feet Monday afternoon.
The Kinchafoonee is expected to crest at 10 feet tonight.
