Keeping Albany-Dougherty Beautiful one tree at a time.

On Saturday, Executive Director with Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful Judy Bowles, says about 15 years ago she received a grant from the city to plant 268 Crape Myrtles along Newton Road.

Now, she and 16 student volunteers with Turner Job Corps are getting out and showing the trees a little love.

She and others are going from tree to tree giving each tree a trim.

Bowles says, "trees are no different from us. We need haircuts and so do they."

She adds that she and volunteers come and trim the trees once a year.
