Original Story:

Monday marked the first day of jury selection in the murder trial of Walter Phelps.

Phelps is a former Lee County Commissioner who police say was murdered in his store, P & P Hardware, during an armed robbery.

Jordan Harris and Ezekial James are both charged with murder and armed robbery. Harris has already been given two life sentences in connection with two armed robberies on the same night in 2009.

District Attorney Greg Edwards expects jury selection to take at least the next couple of days.
