Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany Public Affairs Officer Justin Jacobs has released the following statement on the cutting of 15 contractors:

Workload demands at the Marine Depot Maintenance Command have forced officials to scale back on some of its contract personnel.

Fifteen contractors were recently released due to normal ebbs and flows in the depot's workload.

This is standard practice and these contractors may be recalled depending on future workload demands.

No government employees have been released.

Miller Coors is another company laying off employees. The company eliminated 360 jobs nationwide.

Fifteen of those jobs are in Albany.

In a statement, Miller Coors officials said these cuts are a result of a restructuring of its salaried workforce.

The company stated that this move should allow for financial flexibility in operation costs.
