Sandra Walker has been working at the Terrell County Jail since 1992 and has been the jail administrator since 2008.
She says by the time she became jail administrator the U.S. Department of Justice had already done several tours of the old facility and the new facility which opened in 2009.
FOX 31 reported Monday on the Justice Department's 20-year-long investigation on conditions inside the jail. The issues mainly had to do with inadequate staff members.
Walker says she has had to take part in extensive training in order to stay in her position and had to share information she received in training with other staff members.
She says they created supervisor roles to take over while she is away.
Walker says she and the staff will continue running the jail according to the standards set by the U.S. Department of Justice.
