      Inmate walks off work detail in Colquitt County

      Law enforcement need your help after an inmate at the Colquitt County Correctional Institute walked off a work detail Wednesday morning. / Georgia Department of Corrections

      Officials with the Colquitt County Correctional Institute say that Christopher Burnette was captured in Twin City, Ga Thursday morning around 10:55 a.m.

      Burnette was tracked through leads developed by the US Marshal's Fugitive Task Force and local law enforcement.

      One of the leads led to the residence of Tabitha Prosser in Statesboro. Police have arrested her and charged her with party to the crime of escape after investigators believe she travelled to Colquitt County to help Burnette escape.

      Leads continued to develop and led to Burnette being caught in a mobile home in Twin City.

      Officials with the Colquitt County Correctional Institute wish to thank all of the law enforcement that helped in the apprehension of Burnette.
