A few weeks ago FOX 31 told you about Javon Harris, a man in Lee County who Code Enforcement officials said not only had a dead deer sitting in his front yard along with an unacceptable amount of trash, but then he proceeded to illegally dump the deer under a bridge.
Harris went to court yesterday and today for all three citations; having the deer in his yard, the trash in his yard, and for illegally dumping the deer.
Ben Roberts with Lee County Code Enforcement said for having the deer and trash in his yard he was given a $1,000 fine and 24 months of probation. For illegally dumping the deer he had to pay a fine, $135 in restitution, and also got another 12 months of probation.
Roberts feels this is an adequate punishment and hopes it sends a message to others that this behavior is unacceptable.
