Deputies with the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office and the United States Secret Service arrested a man Wednesday afternoon for identity theft after an undercover operation.
38-year-old Jai Lee had been communicating with agents and agreed to sell the identification of victims according to the Sheriff's Office.
Lee delivered the packaged which was intercepted by investigators, which contained identification information of 1,100 people.
Lee was arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Jail, where he was booked on multiple counts of identity theft.
Sheriff Chris Prine says that Sheriff's Office investigators and Secret Service agents will be continuing working to contact the victims and identify the source where the information was initially compromised.
