Albany police officers responded to an accident Wednesday morning around 7:35 at the intersection of Blaylock Street and 3rd Avenue East.

A 2004 Ford Crown Victoria, driven by 26-year-old Leslie Roberts, was traveling west on 3rd Avenue East. A Mitsubishi Galant, driven by 32-year-old Nazier King Jr., was traveling north on Blaylock Street.

According to witnesses, the Ford Crown Victoria ran the stop sign and was struck by the Mitsubishi Galant.

The Crown Victoria then struck a fire hydrant causing a water line to break.

Water, Gas, and Light was called to turn off the water supply to the hydrant.

Roberts was issued citations for stop sign violation and three child restraint violations.

All occupants of the Crown Victoria were transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for non-life threatning injuries.
