      Hundreds turnout for "Day of Caring"

      The United Way gave people the chance to show how much they care about the community in Friday's annual "Day of Caring"Teams of volunteers from different businesses were sent out to local non-profit organizations to help them with projects they may not have had the fund to complete otherwise.Whether it was gardening, painting or running a BINGO game the impact was felt, "In this economy non-profits are struggling, they need out support financially but this is also a way to show them we support them with volunteer time," said LaKisha Bryant the CEO of United Way of Southwest Georgia.This year's "Day of Caring" saw 225 volunteers come out to donate their time which is up from 150 last year.
