FOX 31 has been following the story about Veronica Wright, a Risk Management employee who got a $20,000 raise for saving the city hundreds of thousands of dollars.

But how exactly did Wright save so much money?

Assistant City Manager Wes Smith confirms to us, that she successfully brokered several different insurance policies especially with Water, Gas & Light to accrue significant savings, which is about $300,000 a year for several years to come.

FOX 31 reached out to a local broker to break down what that means, and they said it means Wright shopped those insurance policies and found the lowest rate.

FOX 31 reached out to Veronica Wright and she told us, "no comment."

FOX 31 also reached out to her boss, Henry Cohen and he said he doesn't want to comment on another employees performance.
