Albany hospitality officials are gearing up for Albany State University's homecoming.

Thursday they discussed plans to help promote the activities.

The homecoming celebration has a $3 million dollar economic impact on Albany.

Hospitality officials also spent time this week with travel writers visiting the area from Germany.

"These writers play a vital role in helping our mission because they'll go back to their home towns and they'll write in their papers about what we offer here and then people will read that and say hey that may be something I'm interested in," said J.D. Sumner, Sales Manager for the Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Officials with the Albany CVB say they've had visitors from all over the world.
