The Hospital Authority of Albany-Dougherty County met to discuss business Wednesday morning at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Among the usual business was three residents of Dougherty County. Ed Walls, Eric Gause and Candice Reid came to testify on their specific cases and how Phoebe Putney helped them. For Walls it was a heart condition, for Reid it was clinical trials helping with cancer, and for Gause it was how Phoebe helped saved the life of has wife and daughter. All three had positive remarks about Phoebe and the staff.
Additionally, new members of to the Authority were selected with Fred Ghiglieri being appointed to the secretary position and the Assistant Secretary position being appointed to Dr. Micheal Leslie. The Chairman and Vice Chairman positions remained the same.
The DNV accreditation survey was also discussed. The four surveys were issued over four days; Jan 21 - 24, 2014. The DNV found four non comforities, and then excellent progress made toward the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for the hospital.
