Honoring WWII veterans with new memorial

In honor of Veterans Day and those who fought in World War II, the American Legion Post 30 and the SOWEGA Veterans Coalition held a ceremony Monday morning to unveil the brand new WWII memorial in downtown Albany.

Organizers decided not to put names on the memorial because they were afraid they would forget a name so instead they listed all the significant battles.

Both of these groups have been working on this memorial project for over two years, and American Legion officials say to finally see it is overwhelming, and a relief.

They add that they're going to take a few months off and then start planning for their Korean War Memorial.
