Holocaust survivor speaks to local middle school
Holocaust survivor Hershel Greenblat shared his story to a lunchroom filled with students.
On Tuesday morning, Worth County middle school students listened to Greenblat as he detailed what it was like living in Europe during the Holocaust.
He was born in the Ukraine and spent the first years of his life living in a cave to hide out from German soliders.
Greenblat told the students to share his story to future generations. He said, "You will be responsible to speak for me in the future."
The program was brought to the students by the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust.
The goal of the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust is to preserve the history and to educate the public.
