Thieves targeting a construction area made out with more than they thought after they drove off with an enclosed trailer that didn't house tools but custom made music equipment.

Three guitars, a custom drum set, amps, microphones, a sound board and more were all housed in the trailer that belonged to local band Highway 55.

The band was ready to play a show at the State Theatre on Friday evening but says when they went to get their gear, everything was gone.

Band member Cody Smith says it's like stealing a car from a NASCAR driver and their instruments are the band's livelihood.

As they say, the show must go on and Smith and his fellow band mates will still take the stage using borrowed equipment from fellow acts.

Highway 55 is offering a $500 reward for the equipment and the Dougherty County Police Department asks for anyone with information to contact them or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
