High temperatures kick AC units into overdrive

With temperatures getting into the triple digits, air conditioning companies across Southwest Georgia are busier than ever.

A representative with Albany Heating and Air says workers have been out constantly working on failing air conditioning units and trying to restore air in a timely manner.

Grant Walker with Walker Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning says they too have been receiving more calls than usual. Walker encourages everyone to have their systems checked twice a year especially before summer begins.

"Make sure your filter is clean because that will cause coils to freeze up and you will lose cooling," Walker said. "Make sure the thermostat is set at a reasonable temperature."

Temperatures are forecast to get up to the triple digits over the weekend.
