Help keep tractors on the road, not off

The Governor's Office of Highway Safety along with Georgia Department of Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black teamed up this morning to hold a press conference at the Sunbelt Ag Expo about tractor safety.

There were 400 accidents in Georgia last year involving tractor's or farm equipment on the roadway and Commissioner Black says it's time that number goes down.

If you are driving farm equipment on the roadway you need to have flashing lights, a slow moving vehicle sign, and a reflector on the back of the vehicle.

Black says drivers also need to take steps to help keep farmers and producers safe as well. He says not to drive too close to them and pass them at a reasonable speed.
